Commercial Property Broker Te Papapa Auckland Real Estate Sales & Leasing
Why do commercial property agents ask so many questions about AML?
Anti-money laundering measures help prevent money laundering, make it easier for authorities to find out where ‘dirty’ money came from, prosecute criminals, seize illegally earned money and assets, and stop crime and terrorism.
To help protect New Zealand’s reputation and economy from money laundering activity and financing terrorism activity, real estate brokers and agents must take you through a vetting process that includes confirming your identity, including your date of birth, and your address details before you sign an agency agreement with them.
Te Papapa
Te Papapa is a residential and light-industrial suburb of Auckland, that lies between Onehunga, Penrose and Southdown.
It has been suggested that the name of the suburb refers to a fortress built of rock slabs. However, at the time Te Papapa Railway Station first opened the area around was commonly known as “Pumpkin Flat” and a short article in the Auckland Star reported that the general manager of the railways had chosen to name the station after the “Maori long pumpkin or Te Papapa” in remembrance of the commonly used name.
